This is a very fine American mid 19th century Empire marble top mahogany commode with a two door storage compartment bellow and a long dovetailed drawer above. This piece is in excellent condition with its original marble top. The backsplash is finely dovetailed with rounded corners at the very top. The door fronts have fine flame crotched mahogany panels. There is no damage, repair or replacement and overall this piece is in a suberb state of original preservation. Mellow rich amber patina. The lock does work with the current key (in the top drawer). Width: 33 1/2'' (accross top back splash), Height: 34 1/2'' (floor to top of back splash), Depth: 16'' (front to back)
