Victorian, circa 1870 Minton Majolica rabbit and lettuce leaf compote, modeled as two white rabbits nestling amongst ferns and foliage supporting a turquoise, leaf shaped top. Three vent holes to underside with impressed ''MINTON'' maker''s mark. Good. No hairlines. No chips. Flake to lower base edge. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to green leaves on one side of piece, and to side of one rabbit; some small glaze misses around the lower base edge. Repair to one end of turquoise leaf. 4.5ins high, 9.75ins wide
