Victorian, circa 1870 Small George Jones Majolica dish modeled with a fox clambering over the rim at the back of the dish, forming the handle. His tail curls around the front. Ochre basket effect dish exterior. Mottled cobalt, brown and ochre glazed interior. Stilt mark inside the foot. Unmarked, but attributed to George Jones. Good. No hairlines. No chips. No flakes. Slight wear to interior. Kiln effect: over glazed shrinkage crack to the fox''s back. Restoration to ears. 4.75ins wide, 2.75ins high
