Victorian, circa 1860 Pair Staffordshire figures of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert on horseback. Three legs of each horse and arms of both subjects are molded free. Dull gilt decoration and base line. Vent hole and a small painted mark to underside. Similar piece illustrated figure 513/514, page 174, Schiffer''s ''Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835-1875'' Book 1, by A.& N. Harding. Good. Slight rubbing to gilt. Queen: Kiln effect: shrinkage line to her waist. Repaired shrinkage crack to base edge at reverse. Albert: A few tiny flakes to underside. Kiln effects: over glazed shrinkage crack to reverse of right hand; over glazed manufacture chip to underside. Repaired crack to top of horse tail. Retouching to hair. 11.5ins high
