THE MARY FRANCES SEWING BOOK. Published in Philadelphia by John C. Winston (1913). The narrative relates the tale of how the fairy Thimble People teach Mary Frances to sew. The reader learns a variety of stitches, how to use patterns, etc. Beautifully illustrated with color plates & a profusion of text illus. by JANE ALLEN BOYER. The book has a set of inserts that have patterns for making doll clothing - from a street dress to a wedding dress. It appears that the removeable patterns for 1 and 2 are missing. Blue cloth cover in fair to good condition with a one inch tear on the spine. The interior is in good condition, but with some browning. The sewing patterns are in fair condition with some tears, folds and freying. Scarce when complete with all patterns. This same book in excellent condition can fetch upwards of $300.00 or more!!
