Victorian, circa 1880 Majolica basket in the form of a tree with two bird''s nests and eggs. Exterior is decorated with green leaves on brown bark ground. Pale pink interior. Ochre glaze to underside with three stilt marks. Similar piece illustrated p.10 ''The Collector''s Encyclopedia of MAJOLICA'' Collector Books, by Mariann Katz-Marks. Generally good. No restoration. No cracks. No chips. Two small rim flakes, and a flake on two of the branch molded feet. Kiln effects: tight shrinkage hairline and a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the rim; green glaze run to the interior from handle; brown glaze run to the exterior; craze lines to the rim. 8ins high, 9.25ins wide
