Great mirror! Perfect for a powder room or special nook. Circa 1880, this two light sconce is cast in Renaissance fashion. There are three mascarons, one at the bottom, with two dolphins, and two at the base of the arms for the candle holders. On the top are two putto in classical repose, either side of an urn. The borders are decorated in relief with a floral foliate motif. The glass in the mirror is beveled and in good condition except for one hairline crack in the upper right hand corner. The glass is pretty clear; not much darkening or spotting to note. There are no marks; so it's impossible for me to say whence the origin of the mirror. My hunch is it is American. Nice size: the mirror is 19.25" high, 8.5" at the widest; and it measures 14.5" from the candle holders.
