The lacquer work is stunning, with red swirls on black ground, highlighted by lovely gold flowers and high relief brown lacquer chrysanthemums on the tray and cigarette box. If you are a non smoker this is still a wonderful display item. The box is like a tea caddy (nasume) and the tray is a stunning tray and can easily be used alone if desired. condition: slight wear, as shown, a few scratches, small chips, but overall condition is very good.
