South Netherlandish or Flemish carved wood figure of Jesus Christ, late 18th to early 19th c. This antique hand carved sculpture measures 51 inches tall. It sits on a 5 inch tall carved base that is not original to the figure but dates from the same period. The sculpture was originally displayed out of doors. Parts of it have been restored, which is to be expected, given its age and history.This piece is on display in our gallery at Old Saybrook Antiques Center and can be seen in-person by visiting 756 Middlesex Tpke Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
