Qing Dynasty - Famille Vetre Scalloped Rim Bowl

This is a finely potted pair of prosperity and longevity bowl. It has scalloped rim. On the outside of the bowl It is painted with three alternating green bat or wufu and the character “Shou” or longevity. The bat is holding a pair of coins, bind together by a green foliage, which represent prosperity. The character “Shou” is painted in gold in the centre of a roundal design surrounded by copper red colour lotus with foliage all around. On the inside of the bowl, the centre is painted with a peach tree with a peach fruit with a flower and a copper red colour bat or wufu flying over it.

The base of the bowls bears the six-character reign mark of Emperor Daoguang (1821-1850), Qing Dynasty, in over-glaze copper red and of the period.

The pair of bowl is in very good condition. There is no repair, restoration, hairline crack, chip or fritting.

The dimension of the bowl is: The diameter 9.5cm and height is 4.3cm
