It is rare to find a complete Kamr, the belt worn by warriors of Indias Hill Tribes who carried a musket. These belts, according to George Cameron Stone, carried flasks, bullet pouches and other loading implements with the combination of articles varying greatly. Our example has its original leather belt, with metal belt hook and two large pouches which were obviously crafted by the same hand. The metal pieces are comprised of a large powder flask and several finely crafted and engraved hooks which may have been for a sword as well as other necessary accoutrements. The leather has seen years of use and is very dry yet in good antique condition. Mid 19th Century.
