This item has been SOLD. From Java, this Pedang Lurus has a very fine quality chased silver hilt with a cross segment resembling quillions. The silver covered scabbard is bordered with a wave pattern engraving. The silver throat of the scabbard is stepped to fit the hilt guard exactly. The blade has prominent pamor and is slightly curved with a partial double edge. There is a small amount of dark rust at the tip. The scabbard has a small area of loss at the front top as shown in the photos and has two breaks one at the front and also at the back. Late 19th C. Overall length, 19.5", blade 14.75".
