Exquisite antique bronze cherub inspired by the painting by William Adolphe Bouguereau. This bronze was cast at the Goldscheider Foundry, it bears the Goldschedier Foundry seal at the back on the bottom of the bronze. This model was sculptured after the painting by W.A. Bouguereau and is inscribed Hip Moreau D'Apres Bouguereau. Cupid measures 21-1/4 inches high. He has a wingspan of 11 inches. The base measures 6-1/2 inches wide and 7-1/2 inches deep. The cherub is an image of Cupid holding his bow in one hand and his arrow quiver full of arrows rests at the base. Weight 29 lbs. It is a 3 color bronze patina. The bow and quiver are gilt and Cupid has a light to golden chocolate brown patina. The seat he is leaning against and the rest of the sculpture has a darker patina. The bronze and patina are both in excellent condition. This is the most beautiful version of a Cupid bronze sculpture you might ever hope to find.
