Vintage Henning Koppel (1918-1922) designed this necklace No. 1088 in 1946 for the Georg Jensen Silversmithy. Usually found crafted in silver, this is one of a few necklaces that was made in 18 Karat gold. Regarded as one of the century’s major designers of hollowware an innovator of the art of silver work. Koppel has designed objects whose sweeping lines and smooth surfaces represent a departure from traditional forms in silver. Henning Koppel was awarded the Gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1951, 1954, and 1957. The Lunning Prize in 1953 & his work is represented in major museums. Has impressed company marks & approximately 16.5 inches long
