Extremely well carved circa 1800 marble statue of a young child holding a small book box. There is also a book under the child's left foot. This magnificent statue measures 20 inches tall by 7-1/2 inches wide. This is an extremely well carved and lifelike antique marble statue. No signature is apparent. Marble statues of this age and quality are extremely rare. The statue looks English or may even be American. Excellent condition. (Item #53284)
