Exquisite antique gilt metal heart shaped jewelry box. The box has a miniature portrait of a beautiful lady dressed in 18th century costume with flowers on her hat. The portrait is artist signed on the right side midway between the top and bottom of the portrait. The box dates circa 1900. It has its original green velvet lining. The box opens easily and closes tightly. Both box and portrait are in superb condition. From the bottom of the heart to the top of the box it measures 2-3/8 inches. From side to side it measures 2-1/8 inches. Height 1 inch. This is an extremely beautiful and very rare heart shaped miniature portrait artist signed box, rare to find one this nice.
