This exemplary piece is based around a madder red quatrefoil and vinescroll medallion inset in a secondary medallion woven in a subtle shade of ivory, which creates a stunning background for the colorful flowers and Herati-style arabesque, which is interspersed with ornate cloudbands and richly-detailed motifs. The overall design is completed by magnificent Shah Abbasi borders and supremely-detailed guardbands filled with elegant vinescrolls and palmettes.
