This Stunning Large Gilt Louis XV Mirror from Genoa, Italy is in Excellent Overall Condition for age, c.1730-1760. With the original multi-paned mercury glass mirror. The bluish cast of this glass is produced by the iron impurities in the sand used to make old glasses and is often found in early mirrors. The design of the frame is in keeping with the Rococo style, largely composed of c-scrolls and rocaille decoration with gilt vines winding up the sides.
