This Stunning "Assumption of the Virgin Mary" after Rubens, (1577-1640) is in Excellent Condition, c.late 1800's. The Original Painting by Pieter-Paul Rubens in 1626 is the inspiration for this painting. Based on the Belief that Mary having completed her earthly life, was assumed into heaven body and soul intact. The Original may be viewed in the Cathedral of Antwerp. Rubens changed Northern European Painting by incorporating the Realistic Tradition of Flemish Painting with the Imaginative Freedom and Classical Themes of Italian Renaissance.
