This cabochon black opal when viewed in person gleams with beautiful high quality gem excitement, with its dark blue under tone and its green/red over tones. Accompanied with six sapphires and surrounded by sparkling diamonds and set in platinum - this ring is gorgeous. The 6.0ct black opal comes from the famous Lightning Ridge opal mine in New South Wales, Australia. The sapphires total .40ct and the 18 diamonds weigh 8.0ct I- Si1. This ring was designed by Birks Jewellers in Canada circa 1940.
