BRONZE BUST OF DIONYSUS (ROMAN - BACCHUS)
ROMAN PERIOD, 2ND CENTURY A.D.
This charming hollow cast bronze bust depicts Bacchus (The god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine) Bacchus (known to the Greeks as Dionysus) was the god of the vine, of wine and mystic ecstasy.

DIONYSOS was the great Olympian god of wine, vegetation, pleasure and festivity. He was depicted as either an older bearded god or a pretty effeminate, long-haired youth.
