VICTORIAN CRICKET BAT, F. H. AYRES.
A good Victorian cricket bat by F. H. Ayres in original condition. The bat is with rounded shoulders and back. The blade is stamped F. H. AYRES on each shoulder.
F. H. Ayres was established in 1810 and manufactured sport and games as early as the 1880’s. The ‘Maltese Cross’ mark of F.H.Ayres was in use from about 1910, they were eventually bought out by Slazenger.
