Lawn tennis tape measure. This measure has the trademark of two crossed arrows, which was probably the mark of A.W.Gamage, Holborn.
This useful tool is made of brass with a canvas tape (one foot 8 inches missing from the front). The front side showing the measurements of a singles and doubles lawn tennis court with the net height and post positions. A ‘modern’ country house owner with keen tennis players could buy a complete boxed set with the necessary equipment and set up a lawn tennis court. This was a vital piece of equipment to do this accurately. The tape body does has a dent in the side.10.25 cm diameter4¼" diameter
