Here is a beautiful blond! An exceptional jumbo arch top especially great for jazz, blues or country. Excellent overall with original Kluson tuners, bridge and tailpiece. The pick guard is an old replacement from a similar 1950’s 2 pickup Silvertone arch top. All of the original binding is intact with no shrinkage or losses.
This guitar was a music store purchase from the original owner. We are told that it was made by Kay for Silvertone and is a model K1B made from 1956-1958.
It has a very comfortable, medium/thin neck, unlike the baseball necks of similar vintage models.
Original jumbo frets are still very good and neck has an old replacement bone nut, see photo. Neck tongue has a slight rise, see photo with a small crack beneath, see photo. There are some small pings on the front of the headstock, otherwise the original finish is exceptional. This guitar was well taken care of.
The tone is beautiful and will be a great guitar for a recording studio
