After the Gold Rush in California a number of silversmiths from the East moved to San Francisco to cater to the wealthy. Shultz and Fischer were among them. San Francisco silver is very scarce. This set of dinner forks is an extremely rare item. 6 have a single monogram, 6 have no monogram, no removal. Length 7 1/2" Marked only COIN so that indicates that these forks were early Medallion as later vintage ones would be marked sterling. Schultz & Fischer often did not mark their flatware with their name or logo.
