Up for sale is a wonderful, antique Victorian oil lamp. As shown, this fancy lamp features a solid metal relief base with four feet and ornate filigree and rose blossoms. The base is impressed with the number “71” on the underside which corresponds to the design number. This base supports a milk glass font with a yellow top and hand-painted in transferware scenes on each side. One scene depicts a lakeside cabin with a prominent rose blossom and foliage at the front. The opposite scene is a simpler, though bold, depiction of a large rose blossom with branches, foliage and buds.

The original brass burner is present and has molded relief rising suns on each side at the top. The wick turner works easily and is marked with: BIRMINGHAM PAT MCH 8 ’85 (for 1885). This burner supports a glass shade with applied decoration of garlands and torches that wrap around the center and alternate. This shade is in mint condition.

In total, this lamp measures 17 ½” tall. If you do not include the chimney shade in the height, the lamp measures 10 1/8” tall. A wonderful, antique Victorian oil lamp for your home.
