Whaler Sunbeam Hove To in the Arctic with the Whaling Schooner Margarett by Richard K. Loud. Both Vessels were out of New Bedford, MA.It is oil on canvas, 26x42", overall 34x50" signed lower right. Loud is considered one of the finest marine painters of his day. His original paintings are in the Texas Seaport Museum and the Minnesota Maritime Museum. This painting depicts the brilliant Arctic glow.
