This piece is being sold for the benefit of a mid-west foundation dedicated to the education of artists, curators, and administrators of America’s rich cultural heritage of the visual and fine arts and has not been made available publicly for decades. The foundation’s executive director purchased this piece from a private collector in 1977, who had owned it for many years. The form is very rare, the condition is superb, and the patina undisturbed.
