Albert Thayer “Rural Country House” Pencil Signed Etching
Albert Thayer A twentieth century painter and etcher, Albert R. Thayer first studied at the Boston Museum Art School and then at the Art Students League, New York, under Eric Paget and Edmund Tarbell. Known for his fine landscapes, marines and architectural scenes, Albert Thayer’s art was frequently exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and at the Rockport Art Association. He also served as Treasurer of the Rockport Art Association. Albert Thayer’s oeuvre of original etchings includes scenes of both Europe and the New England area.
After printing his own etchings he would often apply washes and watercolor directly to the image, making each work a unique composition. Such is the case with this original etching of a harbor view.
