Madrid-born artist Jaime de Jaraiz (1934-2007) has been described as “a poet of brushes†for his “magical realist style of figures†of children.
This untitled oil work of a young girl in a ruffle collar — the portrait is of de Jaraiz’s niece — is a perfect example of de Jaraiz’s work, which has won him some of the art world’s highest honors. It is in the original Spanish frame, which measures 26x22 1/4 inches. The image area is 16x20 inches.
