UNIQUE, RARE AND VERY OLD!
THIS ITEM IS SOLD, PLEASE LOOK AT OUR OTHER ADS.
This is a rare, unique, very solid and sturdy antique wood spindle porch rocker, circa and wood unknown, however, the design and wear marks indicate it's quite old. The unique curved back spindle design provides a more comfortable fit for the back. This is not your average rocker by any means. To warp the wood to curve the back took skill and patience. You won't find this type of rocker again. At first we thought the circa to be about 19th. century, however, the more we look at the way the wood was put together (similar to dovetail drawers indicating the age) it could even be 18th. century.
Condition: Frame is solid in Good condition considering it's age and that it has been in use. There are several dark marks and dents on the arms, seat and back along with cracks on the front and top of the back and some scratches and pitting in the seat. It also appears there were two metal support rods added at the sides by the arm spindles. This is a very old original piece that was enjoyed for many years of which fact should be taken into consideration. There are many more years of enjoyment this rocker is just waiting to provide. Please see pictures.
Measurements: 43.5" tall to top of the back of the rocker; 23" deep; 20.5" wide outside arm to arm; seat depth 18", 15" floor to seat.
This quaint and comfortable rocker will provide many hours of relaxation spent outdoors on any porch as well as indoors. Perfect for a B&B, Inn or Century Home.
