Very Unusual Vintage Tilting Peephole for Door, 1947 Patent Date NPH1 - For Sale

Very Unusual Vintage Tilting Peephole for Door, 1947 Patent Date NPH1
Price: $95.00
This is a remarkable vintage tilting door peep hole, patented in 1947 by Abe Nichols and Joseph Spector of Los Angeles. (Actually, we thought it was so unusual that we bought the door it was in, just to get the peephole.) Unlike ordinary peepholes, this one tilts and swivels to facilitate “inspect[ion]” of “a person desirous of entering or attempting to enter the room or home.” This swiveling peephole has a lovely patina and functions well, and includes its original screws for mounting it to the door. The peep hole is 2 ¾” in diameter overall. A copy of the patent can be viewed here: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/2491758.pdf
