DESCRIPTION:
This is a lovely 8-Day oak and mahogany longcase clock which is in superb condition and is exceptionally detailed. The clock is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. This clock is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a clock to place straight into their home.

If we start with the hood, this has swan necks. Pretty square reeded columns flank the hood door. To the rear are reeded back splats.

If we then move down to the trunk it has a lovely shaped door cross banded in mahogany. The door is also complete with it's lock and key which is fully working. The door is then flanked by square reeded columns. Also below the door is a pretty mahogany cross banded panel.

Finally the base has a lovely shaped applied panel which again has been cross banded in mahogany. The base is raised on lovely shaped bracket feet.

The dial with makers name of 'O. Roberts, Gaerwen', has the four corners adorned with wonderful gilded flowers which are surrounded in fabulous vivid blue and yellow. There is also two pretty windmills painted to the centre of the dial. The dial is set out with Roman Numerals. There is subsidiary second dial and date aperture. The dial also has the most wonderful fretted fingers.

The movement is eight day duration and is rack striking on a single bell. The movement is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. As can be seen from the photographs the movement is immaculately clean.

There is only one O. Roberts of Gaerwen listed in 'WALES Clocks & Clockmakers by William Linnard' :
