A remarkable pair of antique cast bronze double-arm sconces, dating from the 1920’s, ornamented with a hard-to-find Scottish thistle motif. The backplate is formed in the shape of a shield, with a single thistle at the bottom and, at the top, a cluster of thistles with a crown. Below, each sconce arm supports a volute bobeche with a foliate finial. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. Each sconce measures 11-3/4” wide, 9-3/4” tall, and has a projection of 4-1/2”. A matching pair of single-arm sconces (pictured) is also available, listed separately under item # NSP634.
