A wonderful antique door hardware set, signed Yale & Towne, in their “Plymouth” design, featured in an 1910 catalog, with a lock patent dated 1898. Made of cast brass, this set includes a Yale Vulcan Lock, a pair of doorknobs connected by Yale’s Triplex spindle, and two plates. The plates have a sleek design with volutes at the top. The doorknobs are quite heavy and have a very nice feel in the hand, featuring an eye-catching radial design. Each plate is 2-1/2” wide and 8” long; the doorknobs are 2” wide and 2-1/4” deep. The lock has a faceplate 5-1/4” long and 7/8” wide, with a 2-3/4” backset. The doorknob has some roughness around the base (pictured) that will be hidden when the set is installed.
