Pierre-Auguste Renoir “La Baigneuse Assise” Limited Edition Lithograph
Pierre-Auguste Renoir (February 25, 1841—December 3, 1919) was a French artist who was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. As a celebrator of beauty, and especially feminine sensuality, it has been said that “Renoir is the final representative of a tradition which runs directly from Rubens to Watteau”.
Here we have a lovely Lithograph, from the “Les Lithographies de Renoir”. Published by Monte-Carlo, Sauret, and printed by Mourlot of Paris.
These were redrawn with the supervision of the Artist Estate and published in a limited edition. Generally 90 percent the size of the images work of the Vollard Edition, with little text on verso. Sheet size are 8 by 5.50 inches, with text on verso NOT affecting the lithographed side.
