A magnificent antique cast bronze exterior doorknob and matching doorplate in Sargent’s Louis XIV “Bergerac” pattern, late 1800's or early 1900's. The backplate is signed Sargent & Co. The oversized doorknob features a beautiful laurel wreath design; the plate, unusually large, features an intricately cast design with a wreath, shells, volutes, and acanthus detail. These have a fantastic patina. The door knob takes a 3/8” spindle; the escutcheon plate is 3-3/8” wide and 12-5/8” long, and the doorknob is 2-1/2” in diameter and 2-1/4” deep.
