This crafted antique Blanc de Chine of Quan Yin standing in her divine pose is an example of the fine artisanship of this special tradition of Chinese porcelain, made in Dehua City, Fujian Province, China. The sharpe execution in the details of her fingers, hands, necklace and headdress is excellent. Quan Yin is the Goddess of Mercy who heals the suffering in the world and is associated with the Earth Goddess energy. This piece is heavier than lesser pieces as it is made of high quality Dehua porcelain with a high content of lead. It bears the authentic signed chops of Dehua on the back (see photo).
