Japanese ornate Mulberry wood, exhibition cabinet displays French Art Nouveau influences, as such is from the most expressive, short lived and extremely rare period of the Meiji era for carved wood furniture. Its intricately carved natural iris and bird motifs, a hallmark of this style, are rich, thick and deeply three dimensional. Circa 1852- 1912. Massive size: h. 94" w. 47" d. 24".
