Circa 1840 Chinese Export Rose Medallion Marmite, measuring 2 1/2" in height to top of rim where the cover sets and 3 1/4" to the top of the finial. Measures 4" from top back of handle to spout of the marmite. Marmites are very Rare. They were designed to hold broth. They are straight sided pitchers with lids and when found are decorated in blue canton or rose medallion like this one. Most are about 3" in height, like this one is.
