Circa 1820 Chinese Export Rose Mandarin Helmut Creamer with old restoration at the handle. The restoration as you can see is the old way of restoring porcelain and in no way detracts from the beauty or the value. I might add as pieces of chinese export porcelain with the great quality like this piece with the old restoration is a very sought after item. The quality is just absolutely the best you will find anywhere. The images tell the story. This is one of the smallest examples of this form that I have seen. It measures 2 5/8" in height from the base to the spout and 5" from the spout to the top of the handle. Famille roses painted around the top are of very good quality and this piece has continuous scenes completely around 360 degrees of this creamer. The colors are Fantastic. Bright green,pink,purple gold, light and dark blue. The restoration is a piece of beauty on this piece as it shows the restoration of the 18th century and not the restoration of today's modern technology which is completely hidden. This form is also referred to as "hog snout" referring to the spout that resembles a Hog's Snout--I guess!!
