This is an interesting and rare decorated bronze dagger dating to roughly 200 BC. There is some dispute as to whether it is from the Dian culture (what is now Yunnan Province in China) or the Dong Son culture in ancient Viet Nam. Regardless, I think you will agree that this is an exceptional example of ancient bronze weaponry. It has circular and linear geometric designs on the handle which are reminiscent of the Dong Son but the overall style and blade decoration are like some Dian culture pieces. The blade is decorated on both sides and the handle decorations cover almost the entire surface. Not that the handle is cast hollow. It weighs 198 grams and measure 216 mm. It shows no sign of repair and has only minor damage to the area near the blade tip which is visible in the photos.
