Incredibly rare Antique French clown doll with white bisque face and expressive face. Clown dolls of this age are almost unheard of. A rarity of the highest order. Could have been made by Bru, Jumeau or some other French doll maker. Clothes are sewn on and have not been removed. Well sized at 19'' tall and includes all the original silk clothes and shoes. A once in a lifetime opportunity to own as rare a doll as you will every find. Condition is excellent overall with some scuffing to the paint on the hands as the only flaw. Circa 1880 Purchased from Ralphs Doll Shop in Parkville MO in 1970 for $550. Ralph ran one of the best Doll Shops in the entire country and wrote many books on the subject.
