The majority of those were mishandled and there seems to be little doubt that some of the coins were actually spent. All of these factors influence the surviving population and few high quality coins eist today. Indeed NGC and PCGS combined have certified a mere five pieces at this level and PCGS has seen one eample finer (6/05). This amazing and near brilliant Proof displays a few wisps of peripheral dappled light tan color. The surfaces are nearly perfect and the design elements are sharp. The only softness is to be found in the upper right (facing) corner of the shield. This super Gem is the finest possible coin the connoisseur could possibly hope for.
