An important American George Hunzinger small sized rocking chair with his well known patented rocking mechanization. This is a very rare example of Hunzinger''s rocking chair having a barrel back form and rare Lollypop back detail. The Lollypops are excellent carved rosettes. Good brown oak patina. Hunzinger (the father of the folding chair) built an exceptional furniture enterprise in New York during Victorian times. A half century earlier, only Duncan Phyfe''s enterprise could have boasted the same.
