Antique American Jeweled Stained Glass Dedication Window with Fleur-de-Lis, William Reith, 1880’s NSG28
Price: $850.00
This is a beautiful antique American jeweled stained glass dedication window, made by William Reith Studios in Philadelphia in the 1880’s. The window came from the St. John Nepomucene church at 9th St. and Wharton St. in Philadelphia. The center of the window features a green slag glass oval that reads, “Na Pamiatku darovali Michal o Maria Kolibab” and is ornamented with an abstract design. The oval is surrounded with a rose-colored border accented with eight amber jewels, and has a honey-colored fleur-de-lis on each side, ornamented with brilliant red jewels. The window has a vibrant blue background. The border at the top is formed of green and honey-colored slag glass ellipses, alternating with blue jewels on a rose background; the lower border is formed of rose slag glass shapes and blue jewels. The window has a few tight hairlines (pictured) that are barely noticeable and do not detract from the beauty of the piece. The window measures 28 ¾” wide and 23 ¼” tall, with a metal frame 2 3/8” thick overall, and the glass measures 27” wide and 21 ¼” tall.
