A Royal Academy Medal for William Ross. On one side of the medal is a back view of a seated male nude torso with the letters: S T V(U) D Y above and below: RAC INSTITUTED 1768 on the reverse side is a raised side profile of George III with the legend GEORGIUS III D.G. MAGN. BRIT. FR.ET HIB. REX around the rim. On the outer edge the inscription: ;TO Mr WILLIAM ROSS FOR THE BEST DRAWING OF AN ACADEMY FIGURE , DEC/R 10. 1821 Diameter: 2 1/4 inches
