Vintage 925 silver match box cover for Sabbath. Made circa 1948-1960, very likely in Israel. Weighs 23grams. Standard matchbox size - 2inches long X 1 1/2 inches wide X a little over 5/8 inches high. Rectangular shape with a raised wishbone-foliage border. Scrolling shaped reserve with repousse flowers and foliage - great detail. An arc of Hebrew letters reads : Lichvod Shabat Kodesh (For the Holy Sabbath). Engraved mark 925 on the side. Very good condition. Came from the home of some old Judaica from the beginning of the State of Israel c 1948.
