Tortoiseshell and gold decorated purse for holding small items such as coins/change/keys. 19th century, England. 2 7/8inches long. Beautiful old shell. Top has a genuine gold shield for inscribing initials (still empty). Gold-coloured trim, probably gilt metal. Inside is red silk lined. Hinge and clasp are in good, strong, working order.
