For Sale I have a nice piece of Arts and Crafts Pottery made by The Fulper Pottery Company of Flemington, New Jersey. The shape is a Low Bowl or Ferner glazed in Mirror Black over Flemington Green. The Ferner measures 2 3/8" tall and is approximately 8 3/4" in diameter at the widest point. The opening of the bowl measures 6 1/2" wide. The Ferner is glazed in a Mirror Black Flambe mottled with Brown over a Flemington Green with some small Crystals on the interior and exterior of the bowl. The exterior of the bowl is a high gloss finish while the interior bottom of the bowl appears to be Semi Matte. There is a wonderful drip affect on both the interior and exterior which just make the bowl stunning and would look great on any Mission piece of furniture. The Ferner is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is a factory flaw on the bottom of the bowl where there is almost like a clay separation that happened during firing. There was probably an imperfection or air bubble in the clay not large enough to cause it to explode during that process. The Bowl is signed on the bottom with the Ink Stamp Rectangle Fulper Mark dating it back to their earliest time frame. This piece is known as shape number 17 in the early Fulper Catalog pages. This Rectangular Inkstamp mark dates this piece to the Vasekraft Years, Circa 1909-1916.
